What happens on the day?
In Person Consultation
Your appointment will begin with a face to face consultation with our expert consultant urologist. They will discuss your medical history, symptoms and any relevant risk factors.
You will be placed on the scanner and administered contrast and Buscopan. Sit back and relax while listening to music for the next 45–60 minutes. During this time you will be able to speak with the team.
You will undergo a series of blood tests, including PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) and a urinalysis to check for any signs of infection or abnormalities.
Your MRI images will be reviewed and reported by our specialist prostate radiologist team. A detailed and comprehensive report will be prepared for your consultant urologist.
Our team will guide you to the diagnostic suite where you will be given a comfortable gown and slippers to change into for the scan.
Once your results are available, you will have a virtual consultation with your consultant urologist to discuss your findings in detail and review any next steps or further recommendations.
We make it easier for you to access the care you need with flexible availability.
Our appointments are available Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 8:00pm.
We’re also open on Saturdays, so there’s no need to rearrange your entire week so you can schedule an assessment when it’s most convenient for you.

The Advanced Cancer Screening cost is £1,495.
Your prostate cancer screening includes an in-person consultation with a consultant urologist, during which you’ll discuss your medical history, symptoms, and risk factors. Comprehensive blood tests and urinalysis will be performed, including a PSA (prostate-specific antigen) test to assess prostate health. You will then undergo a prostate MRI with contrast and Buscopan, a cutting-edge imaging scan carried out at our state-of-the-art facilities. This provides a highly detailed view of your prostate, helping to identify any potential areas of concern.
A specialist prostate radiologist will prepare a detailed report interpreting your MRI findings. Finally, you’ll have a virtual follow-up consultation with your consultant to review your results, discuss next steps, and explore any recommended treatment or monitoring options.
You don’t need to be referred by a GP and can self-refer. Prior to the screening, you will have pre-assessment telephone appointment with a GP to discuss your medical history and any health concerns.
Your cancer screening results within 2 weeks of having your Prostate Cancer Screening appointment. The results will be sent to you securly via email. We can also post your results to you if you would prefer, but please be aware that they make take slightly longer to arrive.
Your screening results and report will not be shared with your GP unless you specifically request that we do so.
Some insurance companies (such as Bupa or Vitality) will cover (or part cover) the cost of an Prostate Cancer Screening, depending on your type of policy. You will need to contact your insurance company directly to confirm this. You will be required to pay the full cost of the scan and claim back from your insurance.

If you are currently having tests for cancer diagnosis or are already in a medical pathway through the NHS for suspected cancer, then the cancer screening service is not appropriate.
