Mr Karan Wadhwa

Mr Karan Wadhwa is a seasoned NHS professional with an impressive 18-year tenure, including five years as a consultant. Having initially trained as an East of England Academic Trainee, he honed his expertise across prominent regional hospitals, including Addenbrookes and Norfolk and Norwich. His outstanding contributions to urology are evident through extensive publications, presentations at diverse conferences, and multiple accolades.

With a Doctorate from the University of Cambridge, funded by the Medical Research Council, Mr Wadhwa’s focus on prostate cancer diagnostics has pioneered the utilisation of MRI scans for diagnosis. A dedicated general urologist, he specialises in minimally invasive (robotic) renal surgery, while his commitment to education is demonstrated through his leadership in educational programs, examination roles at local medical schools, and supervision of students from renowned institutions. Mr Wadhwa is a faculty member at the Royal College of Surgeons and provides regular teaching there. He has recently been appointed as an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin Unversity which has recently come top in a national survey of universities.

Presently serving as the clinical lead for Urology at Broomfield Hospital, Mr Wadhwa’s influence extends to roles such as the year two lead for clinical attachments at Anglia Ruskin University and a module co-lead for the yearly national Urology Bootcamp. His dynamic expertise continues to shape the field and inspire new urology trainees.
